Advertisment

                                                                      10  adverts

The thing that makes this advert memorable is the fact that the man running  quite unexpected, as at the start of the advert it presents itself being about wildlife, but shortly after we begin to see the man and bear fighting and in the end the man winning. Another thing that makes it memorable is at 00:19 we see the bear do a roundhouse kick, which is something you will never likely see and is what makes this advert stick in your mind as something humorous and ridiculous. The advert is slightly effective when it comes to selling the product, but it mainly focuses on the conflict between the man and bear, rather than the actual product. As the voice over mentions"John West" briefly at the beginning but its likely to be ignored due to the rest of the advert. The advert does seem to go towards the male audience rather than female, due to it having violence and humour involved that more likely appeal to men. The camera language is quite simple through the advert and does zoom into the fight scene, but I think the reason that they may of done this is to create the effect of it being someone doing a nature recording and they happen to come across a bear fighting a man.

What makes this advert memorable is the unexpected, as when watching you assume their just going to have a school photo done, but instead they start to move their eyebrows in time with the music, which would stick in the audiences mind due to it being something very strange. Also the song their moving too is quite known and has a catchy rhythm to it, which when the audience listens to its most likely going to remind them of this advert. The camera language used in this clip such as at 00:07 sets the scene and makes the audience assume its just going to be a school photo advert, but with the close up of the watch it take and unexpected turn and makes the audience want to keep watching. Also the close ups of the child's face at 00:39 creates an uncomfortable feeling, as it feels like she is staring into your soul, but with the movement of they eyebrows creates humour. The audience that the advert is aimed towards, could be both a younger and older audience. A younger audience being that during the video it has children featured, but an older audience due to the song chosen " Don't Stop The Rock" even though it was released in the late 90's  it might remember them of there youth.

What makes this advert memorable is the clown character. Even though it was produced in the 1960's it most likely stuck in the target audience mind, which seems to be children due it promoting cereal and the clown talking in a more persistent childish way but he is also being persuasive at the same as he repeats the word krinkle over and over and the product itself is called " Krinkles". The word "krinkles" could also be seen as a subliminal message due to its repetitiveness, as the more times its repeated its most likely going to stick inside the child's mind, which then leads them into asking their parents permission for the product. The camera techniques used are mainly static and are focusing mainly on the clowns face, as this will add effect to the audience wanting to buy the product as he has excited expression on his face through the clip and is exaggerating on the product.

The camera techniques in this clip are quite smooth and slow to match the pace of the music at the beginning of the video and also focuses around the gorillas facial expression quite a lot, which will lead the audience to think something big is going to happen. Also the zoom out at 00:53 builds up more tension, as you begin to wonder what the gorilla is surrounded by and what hes going to actually do. The advert is quite successful when it comes to promoting its product, as the song they use is quite popular, so its likely to remind someone of this advert if they ever hear it. At the beginning of the advert it shows the company logo, which leads you into to think "its just another chocolate advert" but when the gorilla is introduced, it makes the audience intrigued and want to keep watching as they want to know what hes going to do. Also which makes it memorable is the whole concept of a gorilla playing drums as its something you would never expect to see and the unexpected usually sticks in your mind.

The only thing that makes this advert memorable is the annoying, catchy song and the man, which sticks inside the audiences head, so that they are able to think about their car insurance and is quite a good way to promote your company, as in a way it could be seen as brainwash. Other than the man singing there is nothing really memorable about this advert, as its set in a city and has average people and nothing eye-pealing that would make the audience remember. The camera language for this advert is quite static and mainly focuses on the peoples reactions and facial expressions, plus the moustache man as it shows that he represents go compare. The target audience for this advert is both male and female, as both genders are shown throughout the clip, but also not only one gender drives a car, so it would apply to both in that sense.

The camera techniques used in this advert, make it seem like its telling a short story and what adds to that is that the main focus is on the puppet girl . But, through the clip we also see a male beside her at all time, but the camera doesn't massively focus on him unless he his whispering something to the girl. This could present, if a child is being abused, their abuser is never caught in the act.The memorable aspect of this advert is that it puts it into a child who is being abused perspective and what it feels like to be in that situation everyday, as the clip goes through what seems to be the puppets routine. Also what makes it memorable is the puppet, as instead of using an actual child, the company decides to take it from what it feels like, which what its like to be controlled and not being able to do anything about it. The editing and music are both slow paced and soft, which adds to the seriousness of the advert, and I think the whole concept of this advertisement allows the audience to be brought into it.

This advert is quite successful when it comes to appealing to a younger audience due to the theme song, as its quite catchy and high pitched voices are rarely used and that way its more likely to stick inside a child's head. Also with the theme tune, it slightly sounds like sort of pop genre music and at a young age, children are most likely to be into that sort of genre. Another way it appeals to a child audience is of the use of animation and characters, as they are quite simple and nothing extravagant and has a happy vibe and tone to it. The camera techniques through out the advert, are quite slow paced a long with the editing, which I think is mainly because the advertisement, wants to get the characters established and also its more about the theme tune, as that way it will be embedded in a child's mind. As if this advert was fast paced with quite a slow song, it would still appeal to a child audience but at the same time, it would be to fast for them to keep up and they wouldn't really grasp the concept of the clip, so with the way the pace it is, it allows the children to embrace the product and not become confused etc. Also they establish what type of cereal they are promoting through the characters, as the cereal is called " Honey Pops", it would be natural to have bees as characters, rather than having some unrelated.

The target audience is mainly men, as its considered that men are more likely to drink beer rather than women, and also the fact that throughout the whole advert only men are shown. The most memorable thing about this advert, is the whole concept of going back in time, as I think its a really enjoyable and exciting thing to watch, as it goes through all of the evolution stages. Also at the beginning of the clip, it seems to be something dramatic due to the music, but shortly after the men all have a sip, the music turns more jolly and uplifting, which is probably to match the pre-evolution parts. Because, I think if they left it with the dramatic music, it wouldn't really have the effect of being adventurous and jolly. When it comes to the camera techniques, throughout the video each section of the evolution stages has different movement such us at 00:32 the camera seems to be imitating the style of the water creature. Also with this advert, they use quite a lot of CGI, which is probably to create something different or to try out different ways of promoting their product.

With this advertisement it seems to interpret a " Charlie and The Chocolate factory" theme, as during this clip it has many similiraties such as the helpers which resemble the oompa loompa and the whole abstract way of how chocolate is made. I think the reason why they created it like this is promote their new product as being something out of this world and try and make their audience buy it. The audience can be both an older and younger audience, but the style that the advert is made makes it look like its aimed more towards kids due to its whacky content. Also I think it does focus on what its trying to promote, as there are quite a few different shots, from different angles of the chocolate bar being made, such as close ups, high angle, low angle etc. Plus, near the end they flip the candy bar towards the viewing perspective, and I think the reason they have done it like that is to try and encourage the audience to buy it. This advertisement is slightly memorable, but I think that only because it resembles " Charlie and The Chocolate factory" .

The thing that makes the advert memorable, is that its absolutely strange and funny and the audience is most likely to remember it more due to these aspects. Also another reason why its memorable is because, its something that you would question and most likely talk about, due to its random nature. They successfully do promote their product, due to them focusing on the mascot of the product and also they made floating heads on top of the chocolate ball which they were promoting. Also the theme tune in the background is quite catchy and whenever you hear it, your likely to remember this video. The advert seems to aimed towards a male audience due to only males being shown in the advert but, the theme tune has a child like ring to it, which then might conclude that this product is aimed for quite a variety of an audience.
